Happy Anniversary Cosmopolitan and Style!

Monday, September 17, 2012 / , ,

MynameisQUE;

Happy 10th Anniversary Style!

With colleagues Calista and Yi Jing.

Not forgetting the magazine that was banned in Singapore for 22 years, Cosmopolitan. Its blog is one of my favourite sites to go to when I'm bored. Also, I find editor of Cosmo, Deborah Tan really inspiring. She was previously the editor of Cleo and then she moved on to launch the SG edition of Cosmopolitan.

Happy 1st birthday Cosmopolitan!!

Outfit of The Day
Lace dress and belt: Kaylene

Ps. Thank you Cosmo for the wonderful unairbrushed bikini shoot of the whole team you did a few months back. I'm sure many young girls who were having difficulty loving their own bodies felt inspired after reading that issue. Respect!

[Events] Adobe Creative Suite 6 Digital Influencer Event

Sunday, May 13, 2012 / , , ,

MynameisQUE;

The other day, I was invited to the launch of the Adobe CS6 Creative Suite!

They are releasing a total of 14 CS6 applications and 4 Creative Suites  – Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design & Web Premium, Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design Standard, Adobe Creative Suite 6 Production Premium and Adobe Creative Suite 6 Master Collection.

The kind people of Adobe showed us the demo of a couple of the new features of their applications that made me impressed beyond words. Seriously! This time, Adobe is taking it up a notch as they listened to what their users wanted.

About the new Adobe CS6.

I love their new features of Photoshop like

1) Background save
Time is extremely precious to me whenever I am at work. There's always too many things to do and so little time. Especially when I'm working on a huge file on photoshop, it will take FOREVER to save. So, I really think the Background Save feature will be really good for me. While saving, I still can make changes to my work! This performance improvement that can help your productivity soar.

2) Auto recovery
Think of the last time your computer shuts down all of a sudden and you were actually in the midst of doing an important essay on Microsoft word. At times, there's this Auto Recovery function that will automatically save your work? Yes! They are going to have this feature for Photoshop too!  A copy of your work is saved every 10 minutes and recovered in the event of an unexpected shutdown.

3) Faster and more fluid
The tools work faster now as it is powered by the Adobe Mercury Graphics Engine, enabling near instant results from essential editing tools, including Liquify, Puppet Warp, Transform and Lighting Effects.

4) Content aware patch
This new feature is definitely my favourite! Content-Aware Patch is designed for times when you want to remove unwanted content from a photo and then replace it with a precise and seamless patch. Take a look at the video below. :)

5) New Blur Gallery
In the new CS6, there's a whole blur gallery, in fact 3 of them. Iris blur, field blur and tilt shift. You know how at times we don't have the right camera and lens to create the blurred background effect in our pictures, but we can always use Photoshop! With the Mercury Graphics Enginem the tool delivers immediate results!

The new CS6 gives users more room for creativity to create things they've never been able to create in the past.

Thank you Adobe.
Anyway, I just downloaded a free trial of Photoshop CS6 here
Let the adventure begin!

Camwhoring with my colleagues before the event.

Thinking of selling the dress since I don't really wear white very often. Any takers? If you're interested, email me at rynaque@gmail.com. Dress fits UK 22!

Dyna Argan Oil Hair treatment by Mucota!

Saturday, March 31, 2012 / , , , , , , ,

MynameisQUE;

A few weeks ago, I was invited to an event by Prime Group Asia, the exclusive distributor of Mucota products. They were launching their new Dyna hair treatment. It's main ingredient for this hair treatment is Argan Oil and it can be used on different hair types such as dry, dull and damaged hair. The event attendees were mostly hair stylists. I even saw my hairstylist from Bonafides

Before that, let me tell you more about Argan oil. I did my research and it is said to be one of the world's most expensive oils which is good for anti-aging and protection (from heat and harmful rays of the sun). Also, for those with dyed hair this oil is keep your colour more long lasting and it'll prevent your hair from being dry.

2 masters from Japans were invited to give a demo on how to use DYNA The models were also bloggers, Kiyomi and Jasmine. You've probably heard about them. Both of them have damaged hair basically due to dying of hair so that day, so DYNA HAIR TREATMENT TO THE RESCUE! :)

Jasmine on the other hand used the Dyna perm to curl her hair. All this, without an iron curler and heat. It was really interesting for me. I received a sample pack of the products and god, did I tell you that the hair treatment cream smells like peach? Really sweet smelling! I love it. :>

If you're looking at hair treatment, you'll probably wanna check out salons using the DYNA hair treatment.
Thank you Wendy for the invite!

Don't forget to Like Mucota on Facebook. It's time to pamper your tresses. ;)

MynameisQUE;

Sometimes when life gets hard, you need to remind yourself to make the best out of it. The grass might always look greener on the other side, but maybe in truth it's just as green as it is on your side. I always tell myself that it all boils down to perspective.

Anyway, here's a photo of a recent event Farah and me hosted. Probably is my last event 2011. It has been a blast. I've learnt so much. Really.

Thank you for your support everyone.

CHOCOLATES GALORE. DO YOU HAVE COCOAPHILIA?

Wednesday, October 5, 2011 / , , , , , , , , , ,

MynameisQUE;

Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope you're feeling fine. Last week, before going for the media preview of the Shnit International Shortfilmfestival which I blogged about HERE, I was invited to a super CHOCOLATY event by Van Houten!!

DO YOU HAVE COCOAPHILIA?
Cocoaphilia is passion about cocoa and all things chocolate!!

My + 1 and me came early as usual so the venue wasn't opened yet. I don't like being late for blogger events. In fact, I don't really like to be late for anything. Haha just a habit. :P

 The organisers chose a very suitable host for the afternoon, the beautiful Anita Kapoor. Yes, the lady I mentioned in my London Weight Management advertisement blogpost HERE.

How often does anyone get invited to an event with chocolate everywhere?!

 Irresistable. ;)

Want some? Come and get them. Hehehehe

What is your fondest memory of chocolate? ~~

Did your first bf give you a bouquet of chocolates?
Or... Did you save up money just to buy your favourite chocolate when you were a kid? :P

For me, back during secondary school days when I was still taking my O'levels, I heard a rumour about chocolates. Apparently, from what I heard is that chocolate makes you happy and at the same time it makes you forget things easily. Thus those days, my bestfriend and I avoided chocolates AT ALL COST because we studied so hard for our O's, we don't wanna "forget" any of the equations/formulas that we were supposed to memorise.

But even until today, I honestly don't know if it's true. But who cares.... I'm not taking anymore major examinations. I CAN AFFORD TO EAT CHOCOLATES.
Hehehehe.

Chocolates are delicious when eaten with fruits! Who agrees?? Wheeeee!!

Hold a chocolate bar in your hand and try to break it.

Was there a "piak" sound? Like a nice snap?

Well, high quality chocolates have higher levels of cocoa butter which will make a clean crisp snap sound when broken. :)

During the media preview, I also managed to meet the brand manager of Van Houten, Ms Diana Obias I asked her a very stupid question..... Don't laugh please.

"Can I know why you don't have white chocolate?".

Well, according to her Van Houten specialises in cocoa and chocolate. White chocolate isn't exactly CHOCOLATE but it's merely a flavour. Man I feel so cheated after that. All this time I've been paying for a flavour and not REAL CHOCOLATE? Hahahaha. Well, we learn something new everyday, don't we? :)

Are you a fan of dark chocolate, chocolate with hazelnuts or almonds or choc with whole fruit and nuts or are you more into plain milk chocolate? :)

My dad is a huge fan of whole fruit and nuts.

ME? I LIKE MY CHOCOLATE PLAIN.

Van Houten chocolates come in two serving preferences of either a chocolate bar or chocolate covered whole roasted fruit and nuts, in milk chocolate and semi-sweet flavour profiles

Farah was just as excited as me! See, she can't wait to open the bar of chocolate!

We all know about how CHOCOLATE promotes the release of endorphins which makes us all happy! So after eating so much chocolate, if the we didn't feel HAPPY at all, then THERE MUST BE SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE CHOCOLATES RIGHT? Hehehehe.

YES WE ARE HAPPY GIRLS!

But chocolate isn't the only reason why we were so happy......

IT'S ALSO CUS WE GOT TO SHAKE HANDS AND HUG ANITA KAPOOR!!!
OMG SERIOUSLY DAMN HAPPY.

It was nice to meet her in person and personally thank her for writing the blogpost about the London Weight Management ad. It was because of her that people were more aware about the disgusting ad by LWM. If a random stranger were to write a blogpost about the ad, probably people wouldn't even give a damn. But because it came from somebody who has made her mark in the entertainment industry, word spread fast and many people agreed about how distasteful the ad was made.

Here's me in the taxi with a box filled with chocolates which I shared with my family and bf. :)
Happiness must be shared right? Kekeke.

Van Houten Chocolates are available at all leading supermarkets and convenience stores. Come on, I'm sure you've seen them around at 7 Eleven, NTUC, Shop & Save and many more other shops. Time to grab some! :P

PS://Don't forget to LIKE the Cocoaphilia Singapore Facebook page!

Also, I've had comments from some of you about joining for events like this. I'll try to ask the event organisers next time and who knows, if you're lucky I might be able to bring 1/2 readers with me for such events. We can talk and get to know each other better too. We'll see how! For more updates, don't forget to follow me on Twitter
