Where To Break Fast This Ramadhan? Nando's, Of Course!

And that's why you should totally break fast with your friends, family and loved ones at Nando's.

Last week, I was invited for a food tasting session at Nandos!

To start of, I did not have a good impression of Nandos. The first time I had a meal at Nandos was in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. However, the service was really bad that the food did not leave much of an impression.

Check out this tweet I tweeted in June 2012.
But now that Nandos in Singapore is halal, I'm convinced to give it another try!

We were served Nando's special Designer Drinks.

From L - R: Madeira Red, Citrus Bliss, Crimson Cola and Sparkling Apple.

PERi-PERi Hummus and Pita

PERi - PERi sauces to tantalise your taste buds!

Sides to complete our meal:
Chips with PERi - Sprinkle, Coleslaw, Mediterranean Rice, Potato Wedges and Sweet Potato Mash.
My fav would definitely be the Chips with PERi-Sprinkle!

Espertada:
Tender marinated chicken thighs served on a skewer. Yums!

The MUST HAVE at Nandos....
PERi- PERi Chicken!

The best part about it is that you can choose your heat before you eat.

The ones served to me and my family was of different heat levels:
Lemon & Herb, Mild, Hot and Extra Hot!

My recommendation: If you love all things spicy, get the one which is Extra Hot. I love how it's so juicy and it's flavourful because it is pre - marinated in their secret sauce for 24 HOURS! They’re then
flame-grilled and basted in your choice of Nando’s PERi-PERi sauce.

We also tried the Angry Mango Wrap:
Delicious! The wrap was made of Nando's succulent PERi-PERi chicken with diced mango.

After a super hearty mains and sides, all we need is a yummy dessert to top it off!
Caramel Cheesecake

Natas, Portungese Custard Tard

If you have kids, Nando's also has something for kids under 12. No one is missing out. Promise!

My mum and I, with Jemimah the PR representative of Nando's Singapore.

Also, if you don't already know...... Nando's is having a contest on Instagram!
I have 2 bottles of PERi-PERi sauces at home courtesy of the Nando's team, maybe I should join too. ;)

You should totally break your fast at Nando's. ;)

Thanks Nando's for the PERi-tastic exPERience. We'll visit you soon!

Cheers,

Review: Seribu Sari Indonesian Dining @ Rendezvous Hotel

Tuesday, April 2, 2013 / , , , ,

MynameisQUE;

It is no surprise that I love Indonesian cuisine so when I heard that Seribu Sari - which literally means a thousand spices, recently became Halal certified, I decided to bring my family for a dinner treat! The restaurant has been featured in various publications like Manja, Sutra, IS Magazine and Time Out Singapore.

The moment you step into the restaurant, you will be treated to the beautiful Javanese influenced ambience, complete with timbre and batik decorations.

Fish crackers - as starters, served with 3 different kinds of sauces.

Must Try Dishes I Would Recommend

Beef Rendang
Tahu Telur
Sayur Lodeh
Durian Pengat

I heard that the restaurant is also having high tea sessions. I'm thinking of giving it a try!

Seribu Sari is probably one of the best Indonesian restaurants I've tried so far and it's definitely better than Gurame/Pondok Gurame so I will definitely recommend this place. Which other Indonesian restaurants do you love? Feel free to share with me in the comment box below!

Review: Gurame Restaurant

Tuesday, November 13, 2012 / , , , ,

MynameisQUE;

I still remember, when I was young, my family and I would celebrate any special occasions at Gurame. At that time, the then popular Indonesian restaurant was located along East Coast park. They recently they reopened this time at Changi Coast Walk.

So I heard about Gurame's new outlet from my cousin so I thought of heading to the restaurant for my birthday dinner with my family. To be very honest, I did not really enjoy myself at the restaurant, but let's try to start with the good things first shall we?

You can choose to either sit inside the restaurant or outside, where you will be able to witness the beautiful sunset in the evening. I have to say, that it probably would have a nice ambience for a date.

Other than the beautiful sunset, in my opinion there wasn't anything fantastic about the restaurant. They were understaffed. We waited for almost an hour for our food. Food was served cold and wasn't fantastic. We were the first few families to arrive (restaurant opens again at 6pm on weekends) and were disappointed when we were told that Gurame, (a type of fish) was sold out. What kind of nonsense is that? Dear restaurants, if a certain dish is your specialty, it'll be great if you ensure that you order enough ingredients for your customers? Food pales in comparison of how great it used to be.

Meh, here are some photos of our horrible meal. We were practically eating in the dark as there wasn't any candles on our table. Thank god for the camera flash.

Total damage: $150 +++

Verdict: Never coming back again.

Anybody else had the same experience as me?

Review: One Mascara To Rule Them All, Maybelline's Lashionista Mascara!

Sunday, October 14, 2012 / , , , , ,

MynameisQUE;

I think I have gone a long way when it comes to eyelashes. I used to be insanely crazy about fake eyelashes, then I grew lazy and went all bonkers when I discovered eyelash extensions. After some time, I realised not only is it harmful for my eyelashes, it starts poking my eyes after some time and causes them to swell. In addition, it is not very friendly on my pockets!

Then I went the traditional route, mascaras. Economical, worth every penny and doesn't cause me much problems. Let's just say before this, I wasn't very brand loyal to any of the mascaras I've used until I found Maybelline's Lashionista mascara. Pink, pretty and chic!

Doesn't clump, lengthens like mad and doesn't smudge. Then again, I feel that it's always about the technique. No matter what mascara you use, if your technique of applying mascara sucks, you won't ever be able to achieve the look you want! Practice makes perfect ladies. Never say never!!

Hope you're having a great Sunday ya'll. You still have time to shop till you drop!!

MynameisQUE;

You might have noticed recently that Pizza Hut just launched their Good Dining Everyone campaign so expect a number of new Italian and European inspired main course dishes and pastas at all their outlets!

Their new menu offering is a collaboration between 2 Executive Chefs, Chef Jason Lee and Chef Victor Tan.

Last week, I was invited to attend their food tasting session to try out their new dishes.

& Here are my favourites.....

Braised Beef Pasta in Broth

I really love how the pieces of meat are tender and succulent. Just how I like it! Also, the squares of pasta are really unique. At first, I thought it was kway teow noodles but it turns out to be pasta!

Chicken Spinach Cannelloni

Sauce wise, it is a mix of tomato, cream and cheese, so it really is heavenly good. Think of a yummier version of lagsana and it'll keep you drooling all day.

Garlic Herb Crusted Baked Fish

To be honest, I am a fan of Pizza Hut's delicious Garlic breads. It is really one of the best I have tasted so far. So this course is no exceptio cus I really love the garlic crust on top of the baked fish! Yums!

Chicken Cordon Bleu with Portobello

Chicken lovers, this is definitely for you. With bits of chicken ham and cheese, these chicken steaks are baked to perfection. Also love the special sauce it was served with.

Chocolate Larva Cake with Ice Cream

What can I say? The best desert to end the day.
