Where To Break Fast This Ramadhan? Nando's, Of Course!

And that's why you should totally break fast with your friends, family and loved ones at Nando's.

Last week, I was invited for a food tasting session at Nandos!

To start of, I did not have a good impression of Nandos. The first time I had a meal at Nandos was in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. However, the service was really bad that the food did not leave much of an impression.

Check out this tweet I tweeted in June 2012.
But now that Nandos in Singapore is halal, I'm convinced to give it another try!

We were served Nando's special Designer Drinks.

From L - R: Madeira Red, Citrus Bliss, Crimson Cola and Sparkling Apple.

PERi-PERi Hummus and Pita

PERi - PERi sauces to tantalise your taste buds!

Sides to complete our meal:
Chips with PERi - Sprinkle, Coleslaw, Mediterranean Rice, Potato Wedges and Sweet Potato Mash.
My fav would definitely be the Chips with PERi-Sprinkle!

Espertada:
Tender marinated chicken thighs served on a skewer. Yums!

The MUST HAVE at Nandos....
PERi- PERi Chicken!

The best part about it is that you can choose your heat before you eat.

The ones served to me and my family was of different heat levels:
Lemon & Herb, Mild, Hot and Extra Hot!

My recommendation: If you love all things spicy, get the one which is Extra Hot. I love how it's so juicy and it's flavourful because it is pre - marinated in their secret sauce for 24 HOURS! They’re then
flame-grilled and basted in your choice of Nando’s PERi-PERi sauce.

We also tried the Angry Mango Wrap:
Delicious! The wrap was made of Nando's succulent PERi-PERi chicken with diced mango.

After a super hearty mains and sides, all we need is a yummy dessert to top it off!
Caramel Cheesecake

Natas, Portungese Custard Tard

If you have kids, Nando's also has something for kids under 12. No one is missing out. Promise!

My mum and I, with Jemimah the PR representative of Nando's Singapore.

Also, if you don't already know...... Nando's is having a contest on Instagram!
I have 2 bottles of PERi-PERi sauces at home courtesy of the Nando's team, maybe I should join too. ;)

You should totally break your fast at Nando's. ;)

Thanks Nando's for the PERi-tastic exPERience. We'll visit you soon!

Cheers,

Review: Gurame Restaurant

Tuesday, November 13, 2012 / , , , ,

MynameisQUE;

I still remember, when I was young, my family and I would celebrate any special occasions at Gurame. At that time, the then popular Indonesian restaurant was located along East Coast park. They recently they reopened this time at Changi Coast Walk.

So I heard about Gurame's new outlet from my cousin so I thought of heading to the restaurant for my birthday dinner with my family. To be very honest, I did not really enjoy myself at the restaurant, but let's try to start with the good things first shall we?

You can choose to either sit inside the restaurant or outside, where you will be able to witness the beautiful sunset in the evening. I have to say, that it probably would have a nice ambience for a date.

Other than the beautiful sunset, in my opinion there wasn't anything fantastic about the restaurant. They were understaffed. We waited for almost an hour for our food. Food was served cold and wasn't fantastic. We were the first few families to arrive (restaurant opens again at 6pm on weekends) and were disappointed when we were told that Gurame, (a type of fish) was sold out. What kind of nonsense is that? Dear restaurants, if a certain dish is your specialty, it'll be great if you ensure that you order enough ingredients for your customers? Food pales in comparison of how great it used to be.

Meh, here are some photos of our horrible meal. We were practically eating in the dark as there wasn't any candles on our table. Thank god for the camera flash.

Total damage: $150 +++

Verdict: Never coming back again.

Anybody else had the same experience as me?

Review: One Mascara To Rule Them All, Maybelline's Lashionista Mascara!

Sunday, October 14, 2012 / , , , , ,

MynameisQUE;

I think I have gone a long way when it comes to eyelashes. I used to be insanely crazy about fake eyelashes, then I grew lazy and went all bonkers when I discovered eyelash extensions. After some time, I realised not only is it harmful for my eyelashes, it starts poking my eyes after some time and causes them to swell. In addition, it is not very friendly on my pockets!

Then I went the traditional route, mascaras. Economical, worth every penny and doesn't cause me much problems. Let's just say before this, I wasn't very brand loyal to any of the mascaras I've used until I found Maybelline's Lashionista mascara. Pink, pretty and chic!

Doesn't clump, lengthens like mad and doesn't smudge. Then again, I feel that it's always about the technique. No matter what mascara you use, if your technique of applying mascara sucks, you won't ever be able to achieve the look you want! Practice makes perfect ladies. Never say never!!

Hope you're having a great Sunday ya'll. You still have time to shop till you drop!!

Last Sunday morning, my family and I had the ride of our lives at the 6D XD Theatre @ Singapore Flyer.  August was a crazy month for me because of work so when I received the invite to try the ride, I was excited!

My family and I all ready for the ride.

Imagine watching a 3D movie and sitting on a simulator, that's 6D! Wind effects, flashing lights and individual seats that jerk and shake. Wohoooo!

Love the visual experience! The motion and speed simulation was so good, I screamed in my seat probably almost every minute. No kidding. Also, it was really great to see that my family have fun. They were all so excited about the XD Theatre! I don't normally bring my family to anything related to the blogger events I go to, but since Carlson White Entertainment and Bridges M&C invited the whole family, I thought why not!

The four movies currently running (July 2012) onwards are: Ravine Racer, Canyon Coaster, Cosmic Coaster and Jet and Jin. Each movie has a different intensity level. Jet and Jin, is a movie for children which is 3 minutes long and has a storyline. Think my nephews would love it! Love it!!

Location: XD Theatre, Singapore Flyer
Opening hours: 9am to 11pm

Prices
$20 per head for adults ($16)

$18 per head for children of 6 to 13 ($14)
$18 per head for adults above 60 years old ($14)

The price in brackets are its introductory prices so you should head down asap to enjoy the discount! Visit www.singaporeXDexperience.com for more infomation.

Food Review: Pizza Hut's new creations!

Saturday, July 14, 2012 / , , ,

MynameisQUE;

You might have noticed recently that Pizza Hut just launched their Good Dining Everyone campaign so expect a number of new Italian and European inspired main course dishes and pastas at all their outlets!

Their new menu offering is a collaboration between 2 Executive Chefs, Chef Jason Lee and Chef Victor Tan.

Last week, I was invited to attend their food tasting session to try out their new dishes.

& Here are my favourites.....

Braised Beef Pasta in Broth

I really love how the pieces of meat are tender and succulent. Just how I like it! Also, the squares of pasta are really unique. At first, I thought it was kway teow noodles but it turns out to be pasta!

Chicken Spinach Cannelloni

Sauce wise, it is a mix of tomato, cream and cheese, so it really is heavenly good. Think of a yummier version of lagsana and it'll keep you drooling all day.

Garlic Herb Crusted Baked Fish

To be honest, I am a fan of Pizza Hut's delicious Garlic breads. It is really one of the best I have tasted so far. So this course is no exceptio cus I really love the garlic crust on top of the baked fish! Yums!

Chicken Cordon Bleu with Portobello

Chicken lovers, this is definitely for you. With bits of chicken ham and cheese, these chicken steaks are baked to perfection. Also love the special sauce it was served with.

Chocolate Larva Cake with Ice Cream

\

What can I say? The best desert to end the day.

Satisfy your cravings at all the 26 Pizza Hut restaurants islandwide.

Thank you Pizza Hut!

Presenting Cetaphil’s newest Daily Facial Moisturizer with SPF 15!

Recently, I was sent Cetaphil's latest moisturizer to review. I'm sure many of you have heard of Cetaphil. Been using this moisturizer before applying make up on my face for almost a week now.

I like how the moisturizer is lightweight, fragrance free and does not leave an icky feeling after applying on your face. Also, my skin feels soft and moisturized after application. Also, this moisturizer contains SPF 15 and would be able to double up as a sunblock and protects your skin from the harmful UV rays. It's great for lazy the time-starved who do not have the luxury take their own sweet time to put on make up (a.k.a ME!).

Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 15 will be suitable for those with sensitive skin too!

Retailing in Guardian, Watsons, Unity and selected hospital retail pharmacy outlets at $24.90.

AM + PM All day no shine sebum balancer and Naruko's Tea Tree Oil!

Thursday, January 19, 2012 / , , , , , ,

A few weeks ago, Naruko sent me 2 products to try. They first asked me how my skin condition is like. Well, I told them honestly. My skin is oily and pimply. Quite disgusting right? What to do.... :(

I was sent the All day no shine sebum balancer product from the brand am + pm skincare and the Tea tree oil from the brand Naruko.

My boss saw this product on my table and said that she has heard good reviews about the product! :)

am + pm skincare
All day no shine sebum balancer
$31.90

This is how oily my skin is by 1pm everyday. Everyday I'll reach work by 9.15 am with make up on and in 4 hours, my make up will look as if it's "gone" because of my oily face. Anybody faces the same problem as me?

After using the product, my skin appears less oily. (Still oily around the nose area but definitely not as oily as before. This photo was taken with the sebum balancer worn underneath my make up.

This product is not only for oil control but also mosturising. However, just a word of caution. Don't use this product so much. Just a thin layer will do. :)

Naruko Tea Tree Oil Out
$25.90

The solutions is a mixture of water and powder. It contains 2% salicylic acid and 0.025% sulphur which is effective against acne. Basically this product sucks out unnecessary oil to balance the skin's water oil levels. I normally use cotton pads to apply on my blemishes and pimples.

For me, after a few minutes, the product leaves a stinging menthol-like sensation on my skin. It has a minty smell which i like. ~

Btw, Naruko's new site will be launched tomorrow. You can buy Naruko products and earn points!

Psst! Every dollar you spend is = to 1 reward point.
SO THE MORE YOU BUY, THE MORE REWARDS YOU GET! ;)
And...... The points can be used for gift exchanges and also you can use it for selected items so that you get a discount.

Another good deal ~~

And to celebrate the launch of the new website, NARUKO will be giving out 100 reward points for members. All you have to do is to go to their Facebook page and enter your account details. (Make sure you sign up for an account too!)

Anyway if you're interested to take a look at their products, visit.....

Happy shopping girls! ~~
