RANTDOM: Abit of soul searching

Monday, July 4, 2011 / ,

MynameisQUE;

I've been doing alot of thinking. Well, I always do. Just that at times, I keep it to myself. Last Saturday, I went to USS with the other Crizal Ambassadors. Before I went off, I had lunch with 2 very pretty bloggers. Estelle Kiora and Holly Jean. There was this one line that Estelle said that is currently playing in my head. They were talking about what they look for in a partner and she said this.

"I think morals is very important. That differentiates one guy from the other".

It got me thinking until today but no, I'm not really thinking about it in the context of boys. Just as human beings. What do you think really defines you, my dear reader?

Is it your looks? Your qualifications? Your achievements?
Or is it your values?

I'm not a good person, I'll be straightforward about it, but I'm real. I don't go around looking down on other people. I don't go around being rude to the people around me. I value my friends, I value my family. I'm thankful for what mummy and daddy has taught me for all these years. I may not be the best daughter ever, but I try my best to make them proud of me. I might be a selfish bitch at times, but I share whenever I can.

But why do I meet very shallow human beings along the way? I meet people who look down on others. People who are very selfish. People who are downright rude to their parents. People who only bother about achievements/qualifications but when it comes to the soul? Damn. What a pity.

What's the purpose of living if all that you're chasing are just worldly possessions?

Diary of a FAT girl

Sunday, April 24, 2011 / ,

MynameisQUE;

Just minutes ago, I read this blogpost *here*

While I'd like to agree with most points of the blogger's post,
I think we should also remember how you can find other people
who possess the exact same qualities, except, they are not FAT.

I've never liked that word. Fat. I've been called Fatty Bom Bom,
Gemok gedempol, Rollie Pollie Ollie etc and people ask me why I don't
TRY to do anything about it. (Common question, yawns!)
The people I've met, so far have all judged me before knowing me.

It's a human trait. Even my bestfriend never liked me at first.
Point taken, Fat people aren't easily likable.
But after she got to know me better, LOOK EVERYBODY,
we are the best of friends!

Sure we have our minor arguements every now and then, we have our conflicts in
opinion, but we give and take whenever we can and we care about each other alot. :')

Fat people get judged ALL THE TIME.
All we want is to be treated with a little bit of respect.
Give us a break. Stop judging us all the time.
There's alot you're missing out on, if you keep judging us.

There's more to us than JUST being fat. Like every single
one of you out there, we've got our hobbies, our passion and our personalities etc.
It's not fair to go around judging us just because our bodies are deemed "different"
from the rest of you.

Fat girls, if you're discouraged by what has been said about you,
you need to keep one thing in mind, just because someone discriminates you because
of your size, doesn't mean that you should think lowly of yourself.
Keep your head held high! (Keep your middle finger higher hehehehe)

Look at these 2 beautiful ladies. They aren't stick thick and you know what?
The both of them are very successful.

And I'm sure there are many other hidden gems around. It's time we embrace our curves
and prove to everyone that "YO, There's more to US than just our curves".

The most important accessory every girl should have no matter
no matter if you're fat, thin, big boobed, airport runaway etc.
is CONFIDENCE. :)
You are beautiful, love yourself!

Xoxo

P.S:// Thank you to every single one of you for your encouraging comments,
be it via the comment box below or on Twitter. It's nice to know that
there are people who care eventhough I haven't met most of you IRL. :)
You guys are the best!  ♥

Apparently this has been the rule in Singapore. HDB flat owners are NOT
allowed to keep cats at all in their flats. I'm shocked. Really shocked.

Fishy business

Its fishy how Republic Polytechnic keeps being in the news.
We know that this is currently the O level period and this is one of the
most crucial time for both students and parents. Both parents and students
are looking out for which learning institution would be
the 'right' choice to choose after getting their results.

These kind of news about attire and smoking spots could be reported between
January to August, but why must New Paper choose to publish this article now?

So pure coincidence? Think again.

Boys just wanna have fun

Thursday, September 23, 2010 /

‎"I want to have fun with no strings attached. I'm 22,not looking for someone for the future.
I'm just looking to have fun with people who are into open stuff, you know?
That way, I don't get hurt, nobody gets hurt, It's a win win sitch"

Someone close said this to me.Yes, a 22 year old man. I guess...
Most guys I've dated have the same typical mindset.
They are NOT looking for someone for the future.

You can't please anyone. Ever.

"You eat, you’re fat. You don’t eat, you’re a freak. You drink, you’re an alcoholic. You don’t drink, you’re a pussy. You read, you’re a nerd. You don’t read, you’re stupid. You tell a secret, you’re an attention seeker. You don’t tell a secret, you’re still attention seeking. You let someone in, you’re easy. You don’t let someone in, you’re too uptight. You smoke, you think you’re cool. You don’t smoke, you’re a loser. You’ve had sex, you’re a slut. You haven’t had sex, you’re a frigid little bitch. You wear make up, you’re a slag. You don’t wear make up, you’re ugly. You can’t please anyone. Ever."

This has got to be the best thing I've ever come across on Tumblr.

What does life mean to you?

Saturday, September 18, 2010 /

MynameisQUE;

Life to me means growing up. It means accepting and embracing
yourself eventhough the whole world is talking
behind your back and laughing at you. It means accepting your own flaws
and realising that life isn't about perfection.
Its about realising that the world is full of hypocrisy and
the only person you can trust, is yourself. You might have your friends

and family behind your back, but one day, everything can change.

Only one person can be there for you. Yourself.

Life teaches you to be independent but yet life isn't only about yourself.
Life is about making others happy, about making a difference in someone
elses's life without expecting anything back in return even if it means that one day, you know that he/she wouldn't do the same.

That's life.

Life isn't about expectations.

A 500 word essay....

Monday, September 13, 2010 / , ,

MynameisQUE;

Twitter is where you get to see the almost raw side of me. Well, almost. Just by 140 characters, I get judged as annoying, whiny, irritating, ignorant, downright offensive and.....the negative adjectives never stops. Well I’m not denying any of those claims actually. IMHO, better honest and straightforward then being a hypocrite. Having a public twitter account also means creating talk for the haters.
‘Hate me or love me, you’re still talking about me’.
Such a lame line but you know this is true.

Posting my picture on your blog, talking behind my back on twitter (Well considering I’m not following you so you’re talking about me ‘behind my back’) and just bitching about me to your friends, all that is good for me my dear cos no matter what, you and your group of friends keep coming back to my blog every now and then. The more you talk about me, the more you direct other people to my blog and that contributes to my blog traffic. I’m sure you’re smarter than that. Thank you for that.

People can talk all they want, but they are just strangers. They don’t mean a thing to me and they’ve either never met me or have never ever dared to express such hatred in my face. Never. The most someone said to me years ago was, “Why you don’t want to exercise ah?” But then again, that was just a question. Not hatred.

What makes you think that you know me well enough? You’ve never met me; you’ve never even had a decent conversation with me. So what makes you so sure that I don’t have ‘nice personality’? I think I have a pretty decent personality. Not nice, not excellent just plain decent. “You would know this if you analyse the big picture and realise that I'm nice and civilised to people most of the time”. I’m sorry I had to steal your line but it goes the same for me.

Since you stay around Tampines, I bet one of these days you’ll definitely see me around. If you do, don’t forget to say Hi and express your dissatisfaction in my face. Better still; maybe take a picture or two so that you can upload it on your blog since you’re always so keen of promoting me. Don’t worry, I’m friendly.

Sidenote: Thank you Beth. This post would not have been possible without you. Thank you for always having faith in me.

PS: // I’ve seen you with your other half at Simpang Bedok once but I didn’t approach you because you were having your dinner. Maybe I should have eh, so maybe you could have spat in my face or something. Yummy! BTW just so you know, this is not a comeback post. It is just a simple honest 500 word essay I wrote to convince you the more you blog/tweet about me, the more you’re promoting ME! ME LIKEY! Shameless yes but you know it is true.

500 words

A recap. Okay, this is turning into a diary. WTF.

MynameisQUE;

Honestly, I thought after Miaxie and the whole NN drama,

it will all be over. But nah, there's more to come. Amazing.

I remembered how I received comments like how childish it was blog
about the whole Miaxie thing. Indeed, it is low and childish.

But you gotta admit, it was funny how she claimed she's Asian,

has been to Singapore and stuff like that.

Not forgetting the whole blog awards images she used on her blog.

(Yes, I still refer to her as Miaxie cos she has a million other

monikers, which I don’t keep track anymore.)

Then there was this Naddo girl who tipped me off about

Miaxie’s pictures. At first she was nice to me, talked to me on Twitter

But she wanted to remain anonymous. I totally get it, she didn’t want to get too involved.

Then after some time, she blocked me off Twitter and stopped replying to my text messages via SMS.

Why? She left me with so many questions.

Honestly, I was so disappointed. But well, that’s life.

People come and go. I never knew her personally but I thought she was really nice.

Ah, I hate it when people leave me with questions! Pfft.
Stop asking why lah Que. Maybe she had her own reasons.

Bleargh.

Some things are easier said than done...

/

MynameisQUE;

Did you hear about the Hana Sameon thing? She was criticizing malays who weren't
not so well educated and stuff like that. The whole thing is entertaining.

Somehow I don't know where I stand.
I know she's smart, has money and all that, but she doesn't have to be all high and mighty about it.
Puhleaseeee. Just because of your paper qualifications then you wanna action. Menyamps betul.

At the same time, its hard to accept it but we all know what she said is true.
Well like a friend would say,

'Knowledge is power. That's why it hurts to know'.

Whether you wanna be ignorant or accept it, its the truth. Like it or not.

We can always say we want change, but how many of us would really
BRING ABOUT CHANGE?
So easy to say, but....

I AM GETTING ENGAGED!!!!!

Okay I was bored.

I AM GETTING ENGAGED!!!!!

Open our eyes, ears and ♥ to local music.

Tuesday, July 13, 2010 / ,

MynameisQUE;

I've never been an avid follower of local music.
Okay maybe yes. This would be like people such as
Taufik Batisah and......... okay, okay. Maybe just him.
*Hides in shame now*

Like any other typical Singaporean, we all have the same mindset.
We give excuses like local music can't go far, local music sucks
and the worst excuse by far I've heard, is that Singapore has NO TALENT
just because we are a tiny red dot.

Its amazing how narrow minded we Singaporeans are.
If only we opened our eyes, ears and hearts,
we'd realise that local music actually has great potential.
We've got awesome bands which are rising by the moment,
but all they need is rather, support from us.
Something that we'll never understand unless we ourselves are local musicians.

For the last 2 weeks, I went to watch Clash of the Bands at SP.
I've never watched any local bands perform, mind you.
(Maybe Electrico, like once, ions ago.)

And boy, it was just breathtaking.
It was an eye opening experience for me.
Some bands were really polished and when they were up there on
stage, I kept asking myself why I never bothered listen to their songs.
The whole 'Local music has no future' mindset has got to go.
Singapore is a cosmopolitan city so I think its about time we open up
and accept new talents.

Shall we?

Right to be Wrong, by Catalogue V.

This song is amazing and it has been in my head for dayyys!
I even made a cover.
Sorry for the shitty vocals.
Social suicide, I knowwww.

I believe there is talent here in Sg. Its time we embrace those talents.

Sorry, your news portal is boring and unappealing;

Saturday, March 13, 2010 / , , ,

MynameisQUE;

Photobucket

As media students,we're expected to read the news.
This is to make sure that we know about the current happenings around the world.
But being lazy and busy, the easiest way to read the news now
is by visiting the online news portals available right at our fingertips.
Thus, that's the reason why I always log on to http://www.straitstimes.com/
I get to read news fast, and IMO its very organised.
I get to read from one story to another and the whole look of the portal
keeps me coming back. Sleek and professional.

I don't see why Cyberita, a Malay news portal, have to look so boring.

Photobucket

http://cyberita.asia1.com.sg/
I don't understand why things have to be so cluttered!
Not only that, but its colour scheme is so boring and unappealing.
Its not the kind of website that we'd wanna visit very often.
Am I the only one feeling that way?

I think so much more can be done to improve on the website.
Think about it, if we make the website more interesting, more interactive,
and more appealing to the audiences, more and more people will visit the portal.
And we all know that the fact that less and less Malay teenagers are reading newspapers,
maybe by revamping the site, we can help curb the problem.
Not only that, we can have a collumn for young aspiring writers, ie teenagers
to contribute to the website. Anything is possible, am i right?
Wait, who's with me?
No one.

As usual. I am talking to myself.
*Shrugs*

"You are like chipsmore"

Monday, March 8, 2010 / , ,

MynameisQUE;

Do you ever have friends who are ignore you when they are happy,
and look for you when they feel bored/lonely/have no one to talk to/ have problems?

Well, I call this kind of friends, "Chips More".

Photobucket

Truthfully, I don't know how that term was coined.
I guess, people I knew were using it and I started too.

Chips More behaviour refers to
"sometimes here, sometimes disappear" kind of behaviour.
Some friends think that calling you up at 6
in the morning when you are sleeping is 'acceptable'.
Some, when you text them, blatantly ignore your texts,
with the excuse, "I don't know how to reply".

Some friends think that they're Chips More behaviour is okay,
but too me, its irritating and intolerable.
I mean, come on, a text is only 5 cents,
can't you even spare that for me?

Being "busy" is no excuse. I mean like seriously,
everybody's busy too. What makes you think you're any different?
And, with technology now, talking to me is as simple as
as text message, instant message, or even on Facebook?

'A friend in need, is a friend indeed'
Are you that friend?

Or are you JUST a fair weather friend?

Foreigners = No hygiene

Tuesday, February 16, 2010 / ,

MynameisQUE;

Did you read the papers last Friday?

Did you know that according to the National Environmental Agency,
individuals caught peeing in public places increased 24 times
last year as compared to 2007!

Feel free to compare the number of foreigners working in Singapore
compared to the number of locals working here.
Photobucket

DID YOU KNOW THAT 89%/2095 OF THEM WHO WERE CAUGHT SHAMELESSLY PEEING IN PUBLIC PLACES ARE FOREIGN WORKERS?

However. the NEA, (National Environmental Agency) refused
to give detailed information about the citizenship of these guilty foreign workers.

Wtf. You people are sick.
This is Singapore, and we're trying to keep our country
as clean and green as possible.
We are allowing them to come and work in our country
and they're pissing on it!
So unappreciative!

Where's your personal hygiene man?
You want to pee all over the place, do it in your own country.
Dammit!

Yes, you contribute to our economy.
Thank you very much.
But still that doesn't make up for dirtying our land.
And why does NEA have to defend them
by not revealing the nationalities of these foreign workers?

You know what Singapore needs?
Maybe we need Urine ads all around Singapore
to remind these people not to pee in public places.
I found this on the net, I don't know which country its from.
Apparently, Nicshields told me those photos were taken in Stockholm, Sweden.
Cool shit!

Ramblings made public

Thursday, February 11, 2010 / ,

MynameisQUE;

Just a question, what places do you deem as 'peaceful'?
A place where you can think, ponder about things,
do your own businesses,
without having anyone poking their noses.

I think on my bed, on the beach and one other special place.

Maybe I'm just weird, or perhaps eccentric.
I don't know.
But at least, I know that I don't lie about who I am.
When I was pondering, I began to think about who I am.
What's my purpose in life?
Who am I?
How is my future gonna be like?

All these are questions that I'll never be able to answer.
At least, not at this point of time.
Everyday, I learn something new about myself.
One day, I want to contribute back to the society.
I don't know how I'm going to get there, but I sure will.

And another thing I realised,
I think we are all insecure brats, no matter who we are or how you look like.
If you are secure and confident about yourself,
you would leave your house without looking in the mirror.
You wouldn't even go shopping with the intention of making yourself looking good.
If we are secure people, we wouldn't be hypocrites.
We would be ourselves, stop all pretense and be who we are.
There'll be no reason to make yourself look good.
Absolute no reason to make a good impression of yourself.
There would be no reason to lie.

To make us more 'secure', we depend on other people.
Some people depend on praises. Some practically live on praises.
You know, those girls who keep on saying that they're ugly/fat when they really are not?
Those are the bitches who live on praises.
Okay, maybe not all.
But that doesn't change the fact that some people live on achievements and whatnots.

So the next time anyone says that you are someone insecure,
tell them to look at themselves in the mirror.

"And you, of course. Everyone an individual.
Everyone special. Everyone taking a different path through life.
It's 2010. The world is a different place.
What path have you taken?"

By the way, the level of insecurity varies from person to person.
I think I'm alright.
I'm not the kind that wears make up everyday,
stares at the mirror 24/7 or the kind that depends on praises.
I am who I am.

Most importantly, I am not you.

Btw, I did this pondering in the toilet, when I was doing my business.
HAHAHAHAHAHA
