My underwear haul from UK!

Tuesday, March 27, 2012 / , , , ,

MynameisQUE;

To be honest, when it comes to online shopping, I'm still quite new to this. I only started shopping online ALOT last year probably because I discovered that there were quite a few blogshops selling plus sized clothes. I started shopping on Ebay last year too. It's quite an improvement for me lah, because I used to be a noob when it comes to this kind of things. So recently, I think I LEVELLED UP because I decided to do some online shopping from UK! Yes, the ones you just saw. It was my first time buying from an overseas site. This website was recommended to me by the owner of Qiqi Plus, one of my favourite online blogshops. :)

Meow meow, at first I wanted to get myself a dress but I changed my mind and bought some undies instead. For some reason, everytime I put my undies in the laundry, they'll disappear one by one so I told myself it's time to get new ones. Look at them. They're all so pretty and didn't really burn a hole in my pocket! Each piece is about SGD$6 which I think is really affordable and the items Yours Clothing offer are really pretty. Also, here's a tip. If you're planning to get some stuff.... here's some tips!

If you're on a budget, instead of checking out the whole site, why not check out the Sale tab first. Then you can choose what kind of apparels you're looking for. If you're into dresses like me, you'll reach this page. Then, make sure you click "Sort by: Price Low to High". Look at the prices. It's pretty affordable to me. However, you gotta always keep reminding yourself that it's in Sterling Pounds.

Here's an estimate;
 £Y x 2 = SGD $ What you have to pay

However, here's the downside. International shipping costs £10 which is about SGD$20. To be honest, it's quite expensive to me because there are sites like Asos which provides free shipping. So... I've got a suggestion. The next time I order from Yours Clothing, I'll probably have a spree so that we can order together + share the shipping cost!

What say you?

Dear ladies, we should all invest in shapewear.

MynameisQUE;

I always believe that it's important to always invest in shapewear no matter your size. So recently, I browsed through a blogshop on Facebook and she was selling these 2 items.

Invisible Tummy Trimmer ($25)

 Magic Bra ($24.90)

I quickly grabbed both items and here they are. :)

I'm sure you're wondering what this magic bra is. It's kinda like a push up bra and you have to wear it over your normal bra. It really works and it's amazingballs!

Here's the tummy trimmer. It's stretchable and it's really a torture to get into this. Once you wear this, it'll automatically make you eat lesser. Been there, felt that.

If you're wondering where I got these items from, visit Femmes Rondes Plus Size and add her up on Facebook. Happy shopping ladies!

A note from Singapore's Plus Size blogger

[This post is part of a campaign by About Curves
to spread the word about Size acceptance.
About Curves is a a US blogshop selling plus size lingerie]

Being plus sized has always been a struggle for me.

 Especially in Asia when almost everybody is stick thin. I remember how they called me "fatty bom bom" and so many other names.

I remember back in primary school, I joined the choir. There was some inter-school competition and only the best would be able to represent us. I tried my hardest to keep up with the bloody dance steps, but yes, obviously I'm not much of a dancer and wasn't chosen in the end. I controlled my tears and when I went home, I cried. I could have looked pretty in that costume on stage. But no, not being chosen made me feel that I just wasn't good enough. Why? Because I was plus size. To put it bluntly, fat.

It took me a VERY long time to accept my body. Why? Because everybody made me feel that I wasn't good enough. People and the media. Everytime I walk, I get stares from people. Some would whisper among themselves. Some would just bluntly blurt out a comment like "So fat". The media portrayed plus size girls like Betty in Ugly Betty as UGLY. Ugly is such a mean word but people still use it on others. Society is fucked.

Just because I weighed more than everyone else, doesn't make me less of a human being.

I struggled to accept my own body.That's why this blog now aims to empower plus size women in Singapore and wherever you are to feel good about yourself. We can look pretty too, we just have to put in a little effort. Size acceptance starts with yourself. Love and accept yourself. Embrace those curves and love handles and walk with your head held high.

Celebrate your curves!
Good luck. :)
