Love Cuts Charity Gala

The other day, I won a pair of tickets to the
Charity Gala Premier of Love Cuts at GV Vivocity via a Twitter contest!

[Well actually, Sharithstar won the tix but she couldn’t make it,
so she passed it to me. Thanks babe! Xoxo. ]

Tickets were sold at $100 each and all proceeds
will go to the Singapore Cancer Society
and the Breast Cancer Foundation.
Altogether, around $13, 000 was raised for the two foundations.

The dress code for the night was Smart Casual, with a touch of PINK.
Well, yeah, I think I was colourblind that day because
I went out of the house thinking that the dress I was wearing was pink-ish.
But noooo, it was actually purple. FML.

Cocktail reception before the movie.

Before the movie, there was cocktail reception and the cheesecake and brownie was gooood.
Too bad we forgot to take photos of the light refreshments served.

LOVE CUTS

The movie stars popular MediaCorp Artiste Zoe Tay and veteran
Hong Kong actor Kenny Ho.
It depicts the struggles faced by breast cancer patients.

DID YOU KNOW?

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in Singapore.

However, only 41% of women aged 50-69 reported going for a mammogram within the past two years. This is particularly troubling, given the fact that 54% of all breast cancer cases occur in women aged 50 and above.
Early detection is key to successful treatment of breast cancer.

This movie hopes to bring awareness to the public about breast cancer.
All you can do is simple, spread the word and encourage your loved ones
to go for a mammogram.

BreastScreen Singapore is a national breast screening programme
which offers subsidized mammograms to Singaporeans ($50)
and Permanent Residents ($75).
