How’s your Hari Raya preps coming along? Not so good? No time to buy your goodies? Ok don’t worry, maybe you can try out Melvados.

Last weekend, I went down to Melvados to check out their Joo Chiat outlet. I've heard lots of good things about their brownies, cakes and ice cream. In fact, just go to Instagram and check out their #melvados hashtag – you’ll discover what other people are saying about them. Please only do so after your buka puasa or else you will start salivating….. Don’t blame me ah!

Anyway, before I delve into details let me share with you a little background about the brand.

Foodedge Gourmet is a Singapore-based food manufacturer that supplies to key food and beverage clients such as major airlines, restaurants, five star hotels, country clubs, supermarkets, convenience stores, care chains and fine dining outlets in Singapore. – Think about it as more of a B2B business. All products are halal certified.

Melvados, their retail brand, was built to meet the rising needs of food-loving Singapore residents who are too busy to whip up a gourmet meal for themselves. Basically the products at Melvados are from Foodedge Gourmet – thus are halal. Just that as it is a different brand name, they are not allowed to put the halal certification by MUIS on their products. – This is a B2C business.

The thing about this place is, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Really cannot tahan! You will feel like grabbing everything because it looks soooo good.
The variety is crazy…. There’s cheese cakes, brownies, premium ice cream cakes, cookies, ice cream, sorbet, wraps, flatbreads, lagsana, pies, wraps, Gourmet breads, condiments, sauces muffins, cooked meats, soups and many more.

Not too creamy and so delicious! This is also my favourite. *.*
Each tray is made of 10 pieces. If you think about it, $2.80 for a slice of Red Velvet cake is not bad at all!

You can serve it with and without the tomato sauce. I chose to overdose my lasagne in sauce. So yums!
If you want it to be cheesier, then just add more cheese. So… So… Good.

This is my first time trying Calzones. Love all things black pepper. I think this is quite suitable for the upcoming Hari Rayi “open houses” that you all normally do. Cut it into 3 smaller pieces so that more people can enjoy this!

I was so impressed by this. Actually, I was already expecting this to turn out dry and not very nice but I was wrong.
It’s not dry at all! The spices for this is also just nice. Boneless too!
 (I think it also boils down to how you cook it la. As long as you follow their instructions, it should be okay)

 

Overall, I really enjoyed my visit at Melvados because the variety is just crazy! I still have a lot of things in my freezer that I’ve yet to try so follow me on Instagram @RynaQUE for more updates. I’ll post my #foodporn there. ;) Don’t know what to serve for your Hari Raya Open House? Then you should check out the stuff at Melvados. I tell you ah… after the 3^rd day of Hari Raya, everybody will be sick of Kuih Lapis, Kuih Tart and Rendang already. They won’t even touch the usual Hari Raya delights…. Correct or not? Might as well you go and buy something everybody else wouldn’t mind eating. Did I mention that the Clam Chowder is to die for?!
